A flexible approach to flexibility

I've been feeling stiff and sore for a couple of months since a minor car accident turned a few muscular niggles into bigger muscular and nerve screams for attention.
Physiotherapy treatment has helped some.  My physiotherapist is excellent and patiently shows me exercises I can do at home to help the healing process, and even puts them on a little app on my phone so I can follow along.
"This will help" she says, showing me yet another movement.  And it probably would.  If I did the exercise.

And that's my problem, I'm bad at the homework.
The reason for this is that it's so thumpingly boring.  I have procrastinated so much that my house is spotless, all ironing is done, the car is clean and even the plants have been washed.  I'm now waiting for holidays to finish so I can go back to work and have a real excuse for not having time for the exercises.

So the other day when I was in my thinking space (the bathroom) I remembered that I used to enjoy yoga and when I was practicing yoga my body was much looser and stronger.  "Ah ha!", I thought.  "I will do yoga again for loosness and flexibality-ness".  But then I remembered something else.  Since having my daughter some important butt muscles have become, umm shall we say - flexible, and all the pelvic floor work in the world did not prevent me from making loud tooting noises during yoga class.  Or whilst doing anything else for that matter.
"And now class, move into the downward dog position"
PARP!!!
"And now stretch into purring kitten"
BLAAT!!
"And now class just relax into the meditation position while I open a few windows"

But since those halcyon days smart phones have come into being and so I downloaded a yoga app.  Now I can do it in the privacy of my own home and the only people I disturb are my family.  Everyone wins!

I've been using it for 2 days now and I've discovered a few things.
1. 14 years is a long time between yoga classes.
2. My musical accompaniment to the yoga instructor is still as musical as it ever was.  In fact I have discovered some new notes.
3. I still like yoga.

At this rate I'm sure that in a month I will move less like a 90 year old woman and more like a young deer.

Well maybe.  I need to clean the house first....................
